In 2024 and beyond attraction is the new chasing!

No one wants to be chased, or “sold” to. Cold callers are annoying, sales DMs two seconds after connecting give us the ick, Barry at the local networking club who tells everyone how amazing his company is totally repels us – Sorry Barry, but there’s a reason no one talks to you again after they’ve met you once!

We want to buy things, we need things, we want services that help us, but we want to go to them. We need to be attracted by marketing in this day and age. This is where creating a personal brand comes in. With a personal brand you share your story, your mission, your vision, your value. The world see’s you showing up consistently, they understand what you have to offer them, they grow to like you and eventually trust you. Then boom, a sale is made, a collaboration is offered, someone is referred to you.

Take a look at the pain points below, do any of them resonate with you? If so, check out the solutions to them that will help:

Pain Point: Time-Intensive Client Acquisition
  • The Issue: You’re constantly chasing leads, attending every single networking event, gritting your teeth while doing cold outreach – it’s exhausting and often feels like a never-ending grind.
  • The Solution: Create a strong personal brand, this can turn the tables, positioning you as the person clients seek out. By building a consistent online presence, clients come to you, freeing up time to focus on providing value rather than prospecting. Spending your time creating content that offers value, feels a lot better than spending your time cold calling.
Pain Point: Competing in a Crowded Market
  • The Issue: The market is noisy; standing out seems impossible, especially when everyone is offering similar services. It was bad enough standing out on the high street, but now you have to compete online with no geographical boarders, it’s even harder.
  • The Solution: A unique personal brand differentiates you in your field. It attracts clients who resonate with your story, personality, and expertise, allowing you to create a natural connection instead of competing solely on price or services offered. Take Accountants for example, there are lots of Accountants out there, the thing that sets them apart, the reason someone will chose your Accountancy over another, is you. They know you, they like you, they trust you!
Pain Point: Lack of Trust and Credibility
  • The Issue: New clients are cautious, often hesitating to engage until they feel trust.
  • The Solution: By sharing expertise, client success stories, and relatable experiences through your personal brand this builds credibility. When people see evidence of value and relatability upfront, they feel a stronger pull to reach out. Many people have a sales resistance barrier up, they don’t want to talk to someone because they think they’ll get “sold” to, so they don’t even ask or have a conversation with you. When they trust you from your personal brand, the conversations will start flowing and they’ll feel more comfortable that you won’t hit them with a sale they don’t need.
Pain Point: Feeling Burned Out by Traditional Marketing
  • The Issue: Traditional marketing feels pushy and drains energy, leading to burnout and dissatisfaction.
  • The Solution: Personal branding shifts the approach. By showing who you are and what you stand for, you naturally attract clients aligned with your values – making work feel more meaningful and less like “selling.”
Pain Point: Desire for Long-Term Client Relationships
  • The Issue: Short-term clients can be challenging, always requiring new leads to maintain business feels like an endless loop of hard work.
  • The Solution: A personal brand attracts clients looking for more than just a one-time service, as it connects them on a deeper level. People who resonate with your brand become loyal, repeat clients who refer others. Often times clients will feel like they’ve become friends through a well crafted and consistent personal brand, friends are loyal and they often are the first to refer you onto others too.

P.S. If you haven’t got the recurring theme yet, the solution is always personal branding!
